Meet Amy Whited
Amy has worked in U.S. politics for over 20 years. She has served as a Congressional staffer, a Presidential GOTV campaign manager in high-profile Florida, a Chief of Staff, and a campaign manager for a Governor and a City Councilmember. A native Alabamian, Amy’s campaign leadership has focused exclusively on the Southeastern states.
Beyond boots on the ground, Amy has consulted on successful political campaigns as a web designer, copywriter, and advisor to PAC fundraising. She has managed trade association and corporate PACs alike and helped candidates navigate the process of PAC interviews.
Amy now works as a lobbyist and has done so on behalf of some of our country’s most highly regulated industries, including medical providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and distilled spirits.
An unapologetically common-sense politico, Amy’s work typically brings a business mindset to the issues of today, without losing sight of the people behind the policy.
In 2020, alongside some talented friends, Amy converted her popular blog Pink Granite into a 501(c)3 organization. The Pink Granite Foundation is dedicated to the professional development and mentorship of women working in Texas politics and policy. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the organization.
Amy also serves on the Advisory Board and Admissions Committee to the University of Texas, LBJ School of Public Affairs’ Women’s Campaign School and on the Board of Trustees and Finance Committee Chair for the Texas Medical Association Foundation. She is a former board member and past national treasurer for the Women’s Public Leadership Network. Amy regularly speaks to organizations about finding common ground on political issues and the important role of women’s voices in public policymaking.
An amateur writer and home design junkie, Amy’s home projects and writings have been featured in HGTV Magazine, Apartment Therapy, This Old House Magazine, and Durham Magazine. When not working or volunteering Amy can be found rearranging the furniture, making dinner reservations, or daydreaming of her next vacation destination.
Amy resides in Austin, Texas with her husband and two young children. She holds a Bachelor of Political Science from Jacksonville State University, a Master of Public Administration with a certification in Non-Profit Management and Leadership from Auburn University Montgomery, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
